Veronika Zilina, a 10-year-old figure skater from Moscow, captivates audiences with her poise, innocence and charm. The ice dance she performed to Alexandra Burke’s „Hallelujah“ playing in the background drew worldwide notoriety.
In figure skating, songs are chosen to establish rhythm and tempo. The choice of choreographer for this anthem by the famous Leonard Cohen was a magnificent addition to the angelic majesty of the performance.
The song, one of my favorites, is about turning sadness into happiness. Veronica may be too young to remember much pain. She seemed to channel transcendent energy into an electrifying artistic display, with her tender movements ideally in tune with the emotionally appealing notes.
Veronica’s elegant gymnastics amazed everyone. There were no dry eyes in the house as her flawless performance captivated the audience. The girl easily won the contest, as well as the hearts of millions of people around the world.
