Madonna has created a style that will be remembered for a long time, both in music and in fashion. It served as a source of inspiration for many artists. One of them is French fashion photographer Vincent Flouret who has been working for months on a project featuring his six-year-old dog in iconic Madonna outfits.
The idea came to Vincent while he was volunteering at City Shelters in LA He was taking photos of dogs to increase their chances of adoption. It was then that the idea of photographing his faithful companion Max in the clothes of the famous artist came to his mind.
“Everything is like a game for him, so yes, for example, if he needs a hat for a photo, I buy it weeks before, and we play with it as if it were one of his toys for pets. And so, it’s ‘normal’ and fun for him when we’re shooting for real weeks later.”
From now on, the project bears the name of “Maxdonna”. The entertainer and her pup managed to recreate looks as iconic as filming the ‘Hung up’ and ‘True Blue’ album covers.
“These photos, between the shootings, the homemade costumes, the training took me eight months to do, tells us Vincent. “I’m a huge Madonna fan. These photos that I take with Max are tributes to artists that I love and respect. It’s a break between my commercial work that brings me to the simple pleasure of pure creation, love and happiness,” says Vincent.
Stemming from voluntary work, the project has retained its charitable side. All money raised from sold copies of “Maxdonna” will go to Madonna’s charity, Raising Malawi. Madonna herself talks about the project like, “Yes! She posted the “Like a Virgin” cover to her Instagram. I was like a kid when I discovered it!
