A woman adopts 26 pets and converts her house into a sanctuary for animals with special needs

Nicole Wulfekuhle loves animals so much that she decided to dedicate her life to saving them and turned her home into an animal sanctuary.

Since 2016, the animal lover has adopted 26 pets, all of which reside with her in her Minnesota home.

It all started when she picked up her two cats from boarding and saw a blind kitten that needed to be taken care of. She adopted the kitten, which ended up being the first of many animals she would save.

As she began to rescue and adopt more animals, she registered her home as a non-profit sanctuary called “Lennon’s Legacy.” She chose this name to honor a blind and deaf Indian street dog who ‘she helped a lot before he sadly passed away after a seizure.

Some of Wulfekuhle’s rescue animals include a cat named Belle who needs a wheelchair to get around and a bent-legged blind puppy named Jude, who was found emaciated, dehydrated and with broken eyes due to a trauma.

She also has 20 other cats, a couple of dogs and two goats. To say she has a full house is an understatement!

Many of the animals she rescues had no choice but euthanasia, and she breathed new life into them all. Lennon’s Legacy mission is to care for these pets while raising awareness of the beauty of animals with special needs.
