Dr. Lincoln Parkes lived a long life and he devoted much of that life to caring for animals in need.
Parkes worked as a veterinarian for many years and helped countless animals when they needed it most.
Now, at 92, Parkes is retired, but he chose to spend his retirement doing what he loves most: helping animals.
Even though Parkes has hung up his white coat, his love and compassion for animals lives on, and Parkes is happy to be able to spend his golden years focusing on his passion.
Parkes founded a company called K-9 Carts, which produces wheelchairs for disabled dogs.
Parkes spends his days designing carts especially for animals in need, and nothing makes him happier than seeing a pup light up with happiness after being fitted with a new wheelchair.
Now that he’s retired, Parkes can devote all of his time and energy to K-9 carts, but he started producing dog wheelchairs long before he retired. Parkes has been creating wheels for dogs in need since the 60s!
It all started when a man came to him with a paralyzed puppy.
The dog had been hit by a car and was left paralyzed from the waist down and unable to walk.
The distraught pet dad didn’t know what to do and considered euthanizing his furry baby.
The poor pup’s quality of life had dropped dramatically and the pup was becoming very difficult to care for.
He built his own little cart for the paralyzed pup and took him for a test drive.
Parkes and the puppies’ father took the pup out to a field and threw a Frisbee.
They watched the pup rush after the frisbee, jump and catch the disc in the air.
It was truly a life changing moment.
Parkes’ cart had brought the puppy back to life, and Parkes had found a new calling in life.
The rest is history.
Parkes founded K-9 Carts and has since changed the lives of disabled puppies.
Parkes custom builds each cart to ensure it meets every dog’s needs, and it’s obvious how much he cares about every little pup that crosses his path.
And even though he is 92 years old, he is determined to keep working and saving lives.
He has saved so many lives, both as a vet and with his puppy wheelchairs, and we are absolutely impressed with his compassion and dedication.
It was highly rated online and restored many people’s faith in humanity.
