They are also known to be quite shy.
Its population is currently increasing and is listed as ‘least concern’ on the IUCN Red List, but it could be threatened with extinction due to deforestation if no action is taken. However, according to John Koprowski, these squirrels always find a way to survive.
They have a wide range of species and seem to be able to tolerate human presence and low-density development, he says.
