Ramjit Raghav was born in northern India in 1916. He grew up playing sports, became a professional wrestler and later joined the police force. For a long time he devoted himself to investigative work.
He didn’t have much time for his personal life. He decided to start a family only after he retired. Ramjit Raghav had known Shakuntala since his 18th birthday. However, the girl was in a serious relationship at the time and no Indians were involved.
Some 30 years later, Shakuntala is left alone. This is where an affair started between her and Ramjit. They ended up getting married. They raised cows, cultivated fields and became farmers.
In 2010, Ramjit and Shakuntala’s first child was born. The media covered this unusual couple and the 94-year-old farmer was named the world’s oldest father. People have even started visiting the farm. The couple were interviewed and received gifts.
Some 18 months later, Shakuntala learned that she was expecting another child. This time the couple dreamed of a daughter, but fate gave them another heir: in 2012 a healthy baby boy was born.
Unfortunately, Ramjit and Shakuntala could not save their marriage. After the divorce, the Indian lived alone on the farm for several years. Eventually, interest in him waned and no one came to visit or interview him.
