A wild fox befriends a little kitten by the window

Jennifer Rutter has always loved watching wildlife from her London home. But since February, she has had a very special visitor.

The brave little fox visits his garden every day and loves to sunbathe on Rutter’s windowsill.

„I see this fox almost every day and it’s our favorite on the street,“ Rutter told The Dodo. “The children watch her from their bedroom window.”

Rutter doesn’t mind having a wild fox around, especially since the fox is so well-behaved. „She seems very polite and sweet,“ Rutter said. “[Elle descend] from the sidewalk to let people pass, and apart from the litter she leaves in my garden, she is welcome!”

The vixen even brings gifts to Rutter, leaving trinkets on his doorstep. „It brought me so many ‚gifts,'“ Rutter said. „I ate a bag of moldy limes, lots of chicken thighs, a sausage, a toy car – the bread seems to be my favorite.“

But no one personally interacted with the wild fox until this week, when Rutter’s kitten, Dodo, decided to make a new friend.

Dodo was hanging out with her mother in her home office when a fox appeared in the window. The brave little kitten immediately jumped at the chance to play with the wild fox.

„The dodo was on my lap and I showed him the fox,“ Rutter said. „She jumped out the window and caught the fox’s attention, and then I started filming. I’ve never seen them interact before and it was so touching to see how they mirror each other.”

You can watch the touching moment here:

The patient fox watched as the Dodo touched the window with its paw and softly chirped in greeting, then went about its business in the wild.

“I thought the fox seemed curious and playful — not a threat,” Rutter said. „Like the Dodo interrupted her and kindly paid attention to the kitten.“

Rutter and Dodo look forward to future visits from the fox and can’t wait to see what gifts she brings them next.
